FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Indiana Coroner and Can You Identify Me Launch “Spread The Word” Awareness Campaign

February 08, 2012: Las Vegas, NV/ Morocco IN - Newton County, Indiana Coroner Scott McCord has teamed up with Can You Identify Me, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to America’s Unidentified, to help find names for three still-unidentified victims in Newton County.

While they are only three out of over 40,000 unidentified people in America, McCord has made it his mission to find names and proper burials for the three people he’s lovingly named Adam, Brad and Charlene Doe.

“I met Rebel J. Morris, founder of Can You Identify Me, and Betsy James Cooper, the organization’s Director of Forensic Art, in 2011 and they immediately went to work assisting me in trying to figure out who these three victims really were,” McCord, who lovingly refers to Adam, Brad and Charlene as “my kids”, said in a recent statement.

Morris stated that, “We at Can You Identify Me dedicate our time working with county coroners like Scott McCord for the sole purpose of identifying victims and letting their families know what happened to them.”

Adam Doe was a victim of serial killer Larry Eylers. He was a 15 to 20 year old African- American who stood 5’10” to six feet tall with cropped hair. He wore a belt buckle with the word ‘Devil’ on it.

Brad Doe, also a victim of Eylers, was a 17 to 22 year old white male, 5’5” to 5’10” with red hair. Brad had a cross tattoo and a rectangular tattoo on his right forearm. It is presumed that both were picked up by the serial killer while they were hitchhiking. Brad might have been from Illinois.

Both Adam and Brad were found deceased in 1983.

Charlene was a 25 to 45 year old African-American female about 5’6” tall. She was found deceased next to a man named Tony at Beaver Creek in Willow Slough State Park in August, 1988. It’s believed that she and Tony were killed on July 4 of that year. Unfortunately, Tony’s family is unable to assist law enforcement with the female victim’s identity.

Adam, Brad and Charlene could each have been from anywhere in the United States, and possibly Canada.

Coroner McCord’s office, and Can You Identify Me, are asking the public to participate by downloading flyers of Adam, Brad and Charlene Doe online at http://canyouidentifyme.blogspot.com .

“We hope people will print out the flyers and post them throughout their local areas, so that we can find the real identities of Adam, Brad and Charlene,” said Morris, “so that they can be each reunited with their families and receive a dignified resting place.”
