Las Vegas, Nev. – Aug. 21, 2012 – This year marks the 10-year anniversary of Solari Hospice Care, which has provided trusted, compassionate end-of-life care to approximately 7,000 patients and their families in Clark County since opening its doors on July 11, 2002.
“Solari Hospice Care is honored and humbled to have played such a pivotal role in the lives of so many Las Vegas residents and to have added as much quality as possible to their final days,” says Gary Polsky, founder, president and CEO, Solari Hospice Care. “We look forward to the next decade of service to the Las Vegas community as we continue to challenge ourselves to meet the ever-evolving medical needs of the city’s growing – and aging – population.”
In recognition of its 10-year milestone, Solari Hospice Care will be featured on a digital billboard at six different locations in Las Vegas throughout the month of September. In addition, the company held a special anniversary pancake breakfast for its 105 employees earlier this summer.
Solari Hospice Care is headquartered at 5550 S. Jones Blvd. in the Spring Valley area. Since 2008, the company has also operated a 12-bed Inpatient Hospice Center at 5530 S. Jones Blvd., providing a “home away from home” setting for times when patients’ symptoms become too severe to be managed in their places of residence. Solari is currently in the process of building a second 12-bed Inpatient Hospice Center on the southwest corner of West Craig Road and Conough Lane in the Summerlin area. The new center is expected to open in late 2013.
Candis Armour, R.N., executive director, Solari Hospice Care, attributes the success of the company to its team focus and family atmosphere.
“At Solari, we have an integrated team approach that brings together doctors, nurses, social workers, aides, counselors, volunteers and support staff all focused on one goal – giving every patient a dignified, peaceful and pain-free ending,” explains Armour. “All of our team members are experts at what they do, and we all work together to give patients the best possible experience.
“At the same time, we are passionate about caring for the family caregivers,” continues Armour. “Solari Hospice provides numerous support services and resources to help them better cope with patients’ needs as well as address their own grief and suffering.”
Armour says the long-term goal is for Solari Hospice Care to expand its inpatient hospice services to more neighborhoods, which in turn will increase convenience for Clark County residents.
“We are growing because our reputation for superior hospice care is spreading throughout the professional and private community,” concludes Armour. “People always have a choice of hospice providers, and we continue to be grateful that so many choose Solari.”
