As the fall chill creeps over the valley, the hosts of Las Vegas’ pool parties will close their umbrellas and pack up their cabanas until next spring.

While most adult pools will remain open through October, some have already wrapped up their season.

The Daydream Pool at M Resort closed its adult-only pool party on Sept. 20 but will function as the hotel’s main pool until next season. The resort closed its pool for hotel guests, the Villaggio Del Sole pool, on Sept. 21. Locals can still pay $15 to use the pool facilities at M.

Hard Rock celebrated the finale of its Rehab pool party on Sept. 27 with thousands in attendance. The Hard Rock Beach club will remain open year-round, weather permitting.

While Wet Republic at MGM Grand won’t close until Nov. 1, the pool will scale back its days of operation starting Sunday to weekends only.

The Venus Pool Club, Caesars Palace’s topless pool, will shut down for the season on Sunday.

Next on the list to close will be Azure at the Palazzo on Oct. 11 while Bare, the topless pool at the Mirage, closes on Oct. 17.

The Cherry Pool at Red Rock will remain open through October while its sister property, Green Valley Ranch, has not set a date for the closure of The Pond. Tao Beach at the Venetian also has not set a closing date.

The Palms Place Pool and Palms Pool will both remain open until Nov. 1. The Pool at the Palms will end its Friday pool party, Ditch Fridays, on Oct. 16.

Spokespersons for both Wet Republic and the N9Ne group, which manages the Palms Pool, said this season’s numbers surpassed last year’s, despite the pinch in consumer spending.

“We actually did better this year than before, even in the economic crisis,” Melanie Salas, marketing manager of N9Ne group said. “We take pride in our customer retention, and we think that’s why we had such good return this year.”

Pool revenue numbers were not available for year-over-year comparisons as casino companies do not break them out in their quarterly earnings.

The adult pool party scene had its share of controversy this year.

Metro Police arrested 11 people on prostitution and drug-related charges during an undercover operation at the Sapphire Pool at the Rio on July 25. Of those, eight ended up being charged by the Clark County District Attorney’s office.

The Sapphire Pool was the Rio’s topless pool, where Sapphire Gentlemen’s Club dancers would appear topless during the day. The Rio made the decision to close the pool indefinitely after the arrests.

Metro later made eight arrests on prostitution and drug-related charged on Sept. 6 during an undercover operation at the Rehab pool party at the Hard Rock. The operation was part of an ongoing response to increased incidents of illicit activities at resort pools throughout the Las Vegas Valley, police said after the arrests.
