Three board members at Las Vegas chemicals maker American Pacific Corp. are stepping down.
The company announced Monday that Fred D. “Ted” Gibson Jr., Jane L. “Beth” Williams and Dean M. Willard plan to retire from the board of directors.
Willard, a board member since 1997, will leave on Dec. 31. Gibson, who joined the board in 1985, and Williams, a director since 1993, both will step down at the company’s annual meeting in March.
Gibson was the company’s president and CEO from 1985 to July 1997 and continued serving as board chairman until March 1998. His brother, John R. Gibson, is the board’s non-executive chairman and also a former president and CEO at American Pacific. Their sister, Linda G. Ferguson, is the company’s vice president of administration and corporate secretary.
American Pacific makes chemicals for the pharmaceutical, aerospace, defense, fire-protection and water-treatment industries. It has a stock market value of about $97 million and, as of Sept. 30, roughly 500 employees.
The company’s executive offices are in the Hughes Center complex east of the Strip, but it doesn’t manufacture its products in Nevada. Those facilities are in Utah, California and Texas.
American Pacific also has a 1.75-acre groundwater remediation site in Henderson.
