Premier Displays and Exhibits is relocating its corporate headquarters from Cypress, California, to a 100,000-square-foot manufacturing facility and office complex in southwest Las Vegas. The project will create approximately 150 construction jobs and, when fully operational in mid-2020, 125 permanent jobs, as well as relocate 25 corporate executives and production managers to Southern Nevada. The new facility is projected to generate $45 million in annual revenue, with a general economic impact of $65.5 million in Clark County, according to a study by RCG Economics.
Patrice Ross has been elected state director of the Nevada State Society for Human Resource Council for 2020. The council is the state affiliate of the Society for Human Resource Management. Ross has more than 20 years in human resources experience working for technology, nonprofit and government-contracting organizations.
Bank of Nevada will continue its long-standing efforts to improve educational outcomes in Nevada’s public schools through the Raiders STEAM Blitz education initiative. As the presenting partner, and in partnership with the Raiders organization and the STEM Academy, students at several middle schools will experience science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM) learning programs. The Raiders STEAM Blitz event will be staged each year at Allegiant Stadium and provide participating middle schools with a $1,000 donation from Bank of Nevada. “Bank of Nevada is dedicated to supporting initiatives that improve public education and better prepare today’s students for tomorrow’s changing workforce,” said John Guedry, Division CEO of the bank.
Diana Quach, clinical pharmacy manager at Southwest Medical Pharmacy, was presented the 2019 “Bowl of Hygeia Award” at the annual meeting of the Nevada Society of Health-System Pharmacists. The award, established in 1958, recognizes one pharmacist in each participating state who possesses outstanding records of civic leadership in their communities and encourages pharmacists to take active roles in their communities.

The partnership will allow for them to better serve their respective clients while expanding their joint ability to compete for new business in markets beyond their home regions. The partnership will also establish a presence for both agencies in each other’s markets.
Howard & Howard has expanded its Las Vegas office with the addition of Alexandria von Mohr to the firm’s growing business litigation practice. Before entering the legal profession, von Mohr studied hospitality and worked for gaming companies in Southern Nevada. She then went on to attend law school and externed at the United States District Court and Executive Office of Immigration Review. Before graduating, von Mohr mediated cases in federal and family court, volunteered at the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada, and joined Howard & Howard as a summer associate.
Samantha Alterman, Christopher Vivas and Rachel Morris joined the Las Vegas Philharmonic as orchestra librarian, education and community engagement intern, and development associate, respectively. The Nevada Department of Public Safety awarded a $12,500 grant to the Nevada System of Higher Education’s University Police Services–Southern Command to improve traffic and pedestrian safety around UNLV and the College of Southern Nevada. The grant will fund a yearlong information and awareness campaign to educate area residents, particularly university and college faculty, staff and students about the dangers of distractions while using public roadways.
“Healing Las Vegas,” aLas Vegas Community Healing Garden, is on sale with proceeds benefiting the garden. The book is a compilation of photos, memories, poems, inscriptions and tributes to survivors and victims of the October 1, 2017, mass shooting. “It is an important account of a very dark time in Las Vegas history, but with a hopeful outlook of how the community came together to honor those affected while healing themselves,” said book about the Mauricia Baca, executive director of Get Outdoors Nevada, which joined the City of Las Vegas to help care for the garden. The book is available online at Amazon and Barnes and Noble. The garden receives 10% of the proceeds.
American Banker magazine’s “Most Powerful Women in Banking” list recognized Zions Bancorporation for having one of the top women banking teams in the nation. Shannon Petersen, executive vice president and corporate banking manager at Nevada State Bank, is part of the list of 20 banking executives. Zions Bancorporation is the parent company of Nevada State Bank. This is the third year in a row Petersen has been recognized. She is responsible for all aspects of corporate and commercial banking throughout the state. “She sets a wonderful example for her team and the hundreds of women finding success here at Nevada State Bank, where she has helped create a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion,” said Terry Shirey, president and CEO.
Cherry Development, the local developer of Downtown Las Vegas residential condominium buildings SoHo Lofts and Newport Lofts, unveiled plans for its first residential apartment building, shareDowntown in the Las Vegas Arts District. The ground floor of the building will have two retail spaces and parking for residents. Slated to open in May 2020, rent is estimated to begin at $1,100 per month and will include some utilities.
