In December 3.2 million passengers arrived and departed from the airport, a 14.1 percent decline from December 2007, bringing the annual total of passengers to 44.1 million, 7.7 percent fewer than in 2007.

US Airways reports loss after Las Vegas cutbacks

US Airways Group Inc., the second-busiest airline in Las Vegas, today reported a hefty loss of $541 million or $4.74 per share for the fourth quarter that ended Dec. 31 -- substantially worse than its loss in the year-ago quarter of $79 million or 87 cents per share.

November worst month so far for Las Vegas visitor volume in 2008

Grim numbers continued to frustrate tourism officials with the report in Southern Nevada of a 9.8 percent decline in November visitor volume from a year ago. Every meaningful statistic was off from November 2007, according the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, as the number of monthly visitors hit its lowest level of the year.
