Toll road bypass proposal draws questions from lawmakers

Plans to build a $400 million private-public toll road around Boulder City ran into opposition from organized labor and some extensive questioning from an Assembly committee. Senate Bill 241 calls for a 15-mile road that would relieve traffic bottlenecks in Boulder City -- the result of increased traffic using U.S. 93 after the opening of the Hoover Dam Bypass Bridge.
