The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada will receive $34.4 million to construct a Sahara Avenue line of the new ACE rapid bus system, the U.S. Department of Transportation announced Wednesday. The funds are part of the department’s Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery, or TIGER, grants created by last year’s stimulus act. The department announced 51 new grants today, with the Sahara bus line being one of the largest.

Gas prices in Nevada have fallen over the past month, but the state kept its status as having the sixth most expensive gas in the continental United States. The average price of a gallon of gas has fallen 6 cents since the beginning of January.
