I Heart Arepas

Hungry for Venezuelan street food? Owner and head chef Felix Arellano used to serve his arepas muy deliciosas from a stand in the Dino’s parking lot.
Now that Arellano has moved up to air-conditioned luxury (and converted the old digs into a taco/hot dog joint), he’s also expanded his selection of Venezuelan specialties, including arepas, which are a flat bread made of cornmeal or flour.
The Las Vegas Weekly's Jim Begley recommends the garlic shrimp arepa, the wood-fired chicken, chicharrones y yucca frita (pigskin nuggets and fried yucca), reina pepiada arepa (chicken salad) and tequenos (white cheese sticks wrapped in dough and fried).
