Programs
• Critical Home Repair: Replacements of systems that are critical to the safety and survival of our clients including HVAC, plumbing, water heaters, roofing, flooring and more.
• Safe at Home: Safety upgrades and accessibility modifications such as Co2 and smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, lighting, grab bars, lavatory modifications and more.
• HOME Program: Depending upon homeowner need, eligibility, and the home’s condition, each home can receive up to $50,000 in renovations.
• Rebuilding Days: RTSNV’s two main volunteer days are National Rebuilding Day in April and Make a Difference Day in October. Community partners adopt a home and their employees volunteer for clean-up, debris removal, exterior home painting, minor exterior repairs and xeriscaping.
• Acquisition and Rehabilitation: RTSNV’s purpose has grown from sustaining affordable housing to creating it by acquiring foreclosed and abandoned multifamily units, rehabilitating them, then leasing to low-income clients.
• Fall Prevention: This program is aimed at seniors who have fallen in the home. We evaluate the home with an Occupational Therapist to determine the best scope of work to prevent a repeat fall. In doing so, we reduce repeated trips to ERs and reduce the tax burden to NV residents. Modification can include door widening, roll-in showers, motion lighting, lowering cabinets, etc.
