Metro Police arrested a person suspected of stealing a car on Monday nearly four hours after he evaded Nevada Highway Patrol in a car chase. Highway Patrol troopers initially attempted to pull over the suspect about 10:45 a.m. at Spring Mountain Road and Arville Street. The suspect sped away and escaped the troopers before ditching the Honda Accord in a parking lot in the 4500 block of Pennwood Avenue, Trooper Loy Hixson said.

Metro Police located a person of interest thought to be connected with a homicide and a carjacking after a police pursuit, and they have determined he was not involved in either incident. They are still searching for the man suspected in the carjacking.
