Congrats to Brenda! At the end of your career it's not the job you miss, but the people.

I wish we could 'Like' some of these comments.

The train is a boondoggle and everyone knows it. The only people that aren't smart enough to realize the obvious are the people who have nothing to lose. Where are the 3rd party engineers and financial accountants to check the books on this farce? It'd be great if we got the experts from Europe and China to put in their two cents. After all, they are decades ahead of us and always will be until we ask for an honest opinion.

Casinokid you are totally correct. I believe they had the hiring all wrong to begin with even during the boom years. Requesting 10 years of job history, my credit score, my past 5 years of residences, the color of my skin, a background check, a drug test, a picture, the high school I went to, the name of 3 random people and then they want to know your skills.

Most of that stuff doesn't matter when you're just serving a beverage and food. The jobs in food and beverage haven't changed since the first restaurant opened centuries ago and neither has the turnover rate in the industry. With all of this information they gather about you as an applicant they still can't find the PERFECT person. That's because they don't exist.

HR departments are hated in casinos because they get in the way of quickly making a hiring decision. No one grows up wishing to work in a casino in any capacity. It's just where we end up. It's not rocket science and I wish that the hiring managers would stop acting like it is.

Also, Cana was a lackluster restaurant. I'm surprised that it was headed by a former F &B director. I thought they knew it all and had all of the experience to make such a restaurant work. I guess with all of their experience and connections they can still fail.

If the rental agreement was in writing how could he renege on it? Let me guess it was a verbal agreement? Perhaps they weren't meeting their numbers and Sheldon is notoriously a numbers guy. Numbers don't lie, but people do.

Non-compete agreements are for CEOs and Directors, not for front line workers. Common sense would say: you can't fire a worker with a non-compete and not give a severance package. The worker has to find work somewhere and if that's with a competitor so be it. One Stop can't have it all and the judge chose wisely to not deprive the workers of their jobs, while the trial is pending.

The Grand Cafe is great! A mutual decision is just that, but it works out better for the gamblers. The casino can control the prices, service and quality of food. If the Original Pancake House was terrible, it just gives Stations a bad rep and they have no control over it. It's all about control.

Picture 10 out of 11 with the yellow sign. The spell check function must have been off.

I'm pretty sure he couldn't pay these "broads" enough. He may have a better chance of just paying "ladies of the night" to visit his restaurant.

Why is every job opening in hospitality called an audition in Vegas? It's a job that has long hours, you work an erratic schedule, deal with irate customers, and the money is hit or miss. You're a waiter nothing more, nothing less. Also, judging from the terrible service I've received lately at restaurants around town they should focus on skills and not looks.

What a tricky game Righthaven played. They lost, now pay up.

"Wynn's attorney, Kamer, also argued a minority of dealers are behind the legal challenge and the vast majority of the company's approximately 1,000 dealers want nothing to do with the dispute."

As Margaret Mead said :"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has."

Just because the majority are willing to sit ideally by and let this injustice occur does not make it right.
