Months after it was revealed that rapper and reality TV celebrity Flavor Flav was planning to open a chicken restaurant in Las Vegas, the venture reportedly has been finalized.

Flavor Flav’s House of Flavor Restaurant will open March 15 at 3333 S. Maryland Parkway, according to a news release issued Wednesday.

The spokesperson listed on the release didn’t immediately return calls, but Clark County online records show that a temporary business license has been issued for the establishment.

Described in the release as a “a celebrity-centric Las Vegas take out restaurant with a quick-service menu specializing in specialty recipe soul food,” the eatery will offer a menu that includes fried chicken, fried shrimp and red velvet waffles.

Flav, whose real name is William Jonathan Drayton, lives in the Las Vegas Valley and makes frequent appearances in the community — including at UNLV men’s basketball games, where he recently played drums with the pep band during pregame festivities.

In December, Flav appeared at a Las Vegas liquor store to unveil a signature brand of vodka — named LeFLAV — that he had developed and licensed.

Flav gained fame as a member of the rap group Public Enemy before starring in the reality TV show “The Flavor of Love.” His father was in the restaurant business, and Flav attended culinary school in the 1970s.

He’d previously started a chicken restaurant in Iowa, but that establishment closed four months after opening amid a management dispute. The Las Vegas restaurant is independently owned by Flav, the release said.

Earlier reports said Flav was hoping to open the restaurant at the Riviera, but later had shifted to a location 320 North Nellis Blvd.

No word yet on whether House of Flavor diners who wear big clocks on necklaces — like Flav does — will get discounts.
