Pieology Pizzeria among Downtown Summerlin openings; 24-hour café debuts at Westgate

A pizzeria built on customizable options is among several recent openings at Downtown Summerlin.

Also, a salon celebrates its grand opening with charitable causes, a 24-hour café opens at the Westgate, Ethel M Chocolates debuts at Tivoli Village, and a pair of restaurants quietly close.

      The restaurant is built around customization and affordability, as customers handpick each step of the pizza’s assembly, and each custom pizza with unlimited toppings is less than $8, according to a news release.

      The Downtown Summerlin location, 10965 Lavender Hills Drive, Suite 130, brought with it about 35 jobs, according to the release. Another Pieology is set to open in April at Flamingo and Paradise roads, a spokesperson said.

      Pieology Pizzeria at Downtown Summerlin is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.

      Downtown Summerlin also announced the recent openings of Mixx, Envy, Build-a-Bear Workshop, T-Mobile, MTO Café, Lindbergh, Ethan Allen, Rice Republic and Grape Street Café & Wine Bar.

      During the opening, the salon provided free makeovers to women in the Shade Tree program and held various raffle events.

      Vegas Stylz Hair Salon opened to customers in the fall. It’s in the Sahara Pavilion at 4724 W. Sahara Ave., Suite 1.

      The café is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with 200 seats, according to a news release. It has filled the space of the resort’s former high-limit room.

      The café has a menu offering appetizers, salads, burgers, sandwiches, main plates, desserts and signature dishes such as “the best chopped Italian salad in Vegas," “the Elvis sandwich” and a north shore lobster roll, the release said.

      The Westgate is at 3000 Paradise Road.

      Ethel M Chocolates has opened a kiosk serving treats to customers through Valentine’s Day at Tivoli Village.

      A selection of holiday and traditional treats will be available at the new location, with complimentary samples offered daily, according to a news release. Products made at the Henderson-based chocolate factory come without preservatives.

      Tivoli Village is at 440 S. Rampart Blvd.

      Cheeburger Cheeburger, a restaurant centered on build-your-own-burger options, celebrated its grand opening Dec. 15.

      The restaurant offers 25 free toppings and 67 flavors of shakes, a spokesperson said. It’s also offering Senior Day Tuesdays with 15 percent discounts.

      Cheeburger Cheeburger is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week at 9905 S. Eastern Ave., Suite 100, in Henderson.

      The market is open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week.

      Coin Cloud bitcoin ATM

      Las Vegas-based Coin Cloud announced Dec. 17 the debut of a bitcoin ATM at the Gold Spike.

      The machine provides a 24-hour access point to bitcoin currency downtown. Coin Cloud opened a local bitcoin ATM in July.

      Gold Spike is at 217 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

      However, Neil’s Tatuado Eat, Drink, Party restaurant at Circus Circus remains open.

      Pearl, a well-reviewed Chinese food fixture at MGM Grand, closed in November, an MGM spokesperson confirmed.

      Asked whether anything was planned to replace Pearl, an MGM Resorts International official said in an email the company had nothing to disclose.
