A pair of long-awaited restaurants are poised to add flavor to New York-New York.
Tom’s Urban and Shake Shack are expected to open by the end of the year as part of an MGM Resorts International move to bring business outdoors.
Also, a call center bringing hundreds of jobs holds a ribbon-cutting, restaurants and a bakeshop open throughout the Las Vegas Valley, and a notable restaurant and buffet at Strip casinos are set to close.

New York-New York restaurants
Tom’s Urban, which plans to serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, is expected to open by the end of the year. The restaurant held a job fair last week and plans to hire more than 200 employees, according to a news release.
Nearby, Shake Shack also plans to open in December. A fixture in New York, Shake Shack is known for its burgers, fries, hot dogs and custard. Shake Shack also held a career fair last week.
The restaurants will occupy the space vacated by the Sporting House, which closed in June.

C3/CustomerContactChannels held a ribbon cutting Nov. 6 to celebrate its call center at 490 E. Capovilla Ave. in Las Vegas.
The 54,368-square-foot center has created 750 jobs with a capacity for a workforce of 800, according to a news release.
C3/CustomerContactChannels is a global provider of customer management solutions to Fortune 500 companies.

Crazy Pita Rotisserie & Grill
Crazy Pita Rotisserie & Grill hosted its grand opening Sunday at Downtown Summerlin, which recently drew more than 250,000 to its separate grand-opening festivities.
Crazy Pita, known for its Mediterranean cuisine and healthy foods, is open from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week at 10975 Sage Park Drive, Suite 100, Summerlin.

Lucky Foo’s
Lucky Foo’s held a grand-opening ceremony Friday and planned to open Sunday as of late last week.
The restaurant, which has taken the place of Xtreme Sushi & Sterling Steakhouse on Eastern Avenue near Pebble Road, will serve a range of Asian cuisine.

Bakeshop
Bakeshop has opened to the delight of lovers of gourmet cupcakes, cookies and other baked goods. The shop also serves gluten-free, sugar-free, low-carbohydrate and high-protein baked goods, according to a news release.
Bakeshop offers senior and student discounts.
The shop, 2550 Anthem Village Drive, Suite 190, in Henderson, is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

SLS Las Vegas buffet
The SLS Las Vegas buffet was set to close, at least temporarily, after dinner Sunday night, a guest-services agent confirmed. The buffet is tentatively expected to reopen in January.
The buffet previously trimmed its operation to weekend hours.
This comes after SLS saw its president, Rob Oseland, leave his post about two months after the casino’s opening, and layoffs of about 2 percent of its workforce.

Sirio Ristorante
Sirio Ristorante, an Italian restaurant at Aria, will close Dec. 6, according to a news release. Details of an addition to Aria will be announced in coming months.
