Owners of the Hughes Center are bringing a slate of new eateries to the Las Vegas office park.

The Blackstone Group, which bought the 68-acre property last year for $347 million, recently started construction of a 12,000-square-foot retail plaza that’s already fully leased with five tenants — Panera Bread, Habit Burger Grill, Pieology Pizzeria, Jamba Juice and Chipotle Mexican Grill.

The plaza, near the northwest corner of Flamingo and Paradise roads, is scheduled to open in summer 2015, management said Tuesday.

It will bring lower-priced, casual dining to what is widely viewed as Las Vegas’ premier office park, whose on-site eateries mainly consist of sit-down restaurants serving heavy meals.

That lineup includes Brazilian steakhouse Fogo de Chao; Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse; McCormick & Schmick’s seafood and steaks; Bahama Breeze, an island-themed restaurant with chicken, seafood and steak; and Gordon Biersch brewery.

The retail plaza is being built on the site of former Japanese restaurant Hamada of Japan. The restaurant closed in spring 2013, and work crews demolished it two weeks ago.

New York-based Blackstone, which renamed the office park the HC | Hughes Center, operates the property through its subsidiary Equity Office. The park has 10 office buildings with 1.4 million square feet of space.

Blackstone’s purchase last September marked the fourth time in the past decade that the complex, a mile east of the Strip, had changed hands.
