Pot dispensary sprouts on west side; Eastern Avenue loses steakhouse

Las Vegans in need of therapeutic care or access to medical marijuana are in luck.

North Las Vegas will become home to physical therapy clinic with over a decade-long history, while Las Vegas will welcome a cannabis business this weekend.

The Miracle Mile Shop has also added another restaurant, while a popular Western Sizzler has closed its doors after at least six years of business in the valley.

      The Neck and Back Clinics will open its first North Las Vegas location, in the Aliante area.

      John Lee, the city’s mayor, participated in the medical center's ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday.

      This is the eighth Neck and Back clinic in the valley. The center has offered therapeutic care to patients for 14 years.

      “We’re very pleased to introduce our latest clinic to the city of North Las Vegas and the Aliante community,” said Benjamin Lurie, owner of the Neck and Back Clinics, in a statement. “The grand opening represents the culmination of hard work and our commitment to supporting communities and we are happy to finally welcome patients to our doors.”

      Sbarro opened its doors inside the Miracle Mile Shops on Dec. 27.

      The restaurant chain will operate from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., Sundays through Thursdays, and 10 a.m. to midnight, Fridays and Saturdays.

      The Miracle Mile Shops, home to 15 restaurants, according to its website, is located inside Planet Hollywood.

      The+Source

      The+Source, a medical marijuana dispensary, has arrived in Las Vegas.

      The cannabis business is located at 2550 S. Rainbow Blvd., Suite 8.

      There will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 1 p.m. Saturday to mark the opening. No medical card is required to attend.

      The+Source will also hold an orientation for new patients at noon Sunday.

      The Las Vegas area’s first medical marijuana dispensary — Euphoria Wellness — opened in the southwest valley in August.

    • Dessy B’s Steakhouse

      Dessy B’s Steakhouse, the former Western Sizzler, has closed.

      The restaurant was located on the southwest corner of Eastern and Tropicana avenues.

      Dessy B’s website confirms the closing but provides no further details.
