Southwest Airlines’ conversion of its AirTran subsidiary to the Southwest brand will lead to a new nonstop route for Las Vegas.
The Dallas-based airline announced today that it would begin nonstop round trips between McCarran International Airport and Bishop International Airport in Flint, Mich., beginning Aug. 11.
The announcement was part of a flurry of updates by the company today, which include converting Grand Rapids, Mich., from AirTran to Southwest on Aug. 11. Southwest previously announced the conversion of Flint from AirTran to Southwest beginning April 14, but announced adding the Las Vegas-Flint flights to the schedule today.
Flights will leave Las Vegas daily at 11:35 a.m., arriving in Flint at 6:30 p.m. Return flights leave Flint at 10:50 a.m., arriving at McCarran at noon.
Initial pricing on the route is $358 round trip as the lowest fare. Southwest would be the first airline to offer a nonstop route from McCarran to Flint.
