This month, locals and tourists can fill their stomachs at newly opened restaurants and then empty their wallets at a familiar retail giant’s opening.

Also, an international restaurant chain has announced plans for a Las Vegas location.

    • CREAM

Cookies Rule Everything Around Me is celebrating their first Las Vegas location in Downtown Summerlin on March 14. The store will be giving away ice cream sandwiches from 12 p.m. to 12 a.m.

The chain specializes in customizable ice cream and cookie sandwiches. It will be CREAM's first location outside of California.

    • Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th

Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th will open in Town Square, next to the Container Store, on March 12, according to a media release.

A new store also will open at the Premium Outlets North in May.

    • Searsucker

Celebrity chef Brian Malarkey will open Searsucker on March 27 in Caesars Palace.

The restaurant will feature comfort cuisine such as beer-braised short ribs, s’mores bars and a variety of signature cocktails.

Searsucker will be open for drinks starting at 4:30 p.m. and for dinner at 5 p.m.

    • Meizhou Dongpo

Meizhou Dongpo will open their first Chinese restaurant in Nevada early next year at the Grand Canal Shoppes.

“Food is essentially a cultural and intellectual product that can and should be consumed and enjoyed,” said Wang Gang, president of the company. “The charm of Chinese food should not be limited by any border of nations.”

There are more than 100 Meizhou Dongo restaurants in China, but the Las Vegas location will be just the third restaurant to open in the U.S., and the first to open outside of California.

    • Art of Flavors

Downtown gelato shop Art of Flavors has closed.

Located at 616 Las Vegas Blvd. South, the shop opened in 2013.

Co-owner Desyree Alberganti told the Las Vegas Weekly the shop will reopen under the same name in the future.
