‘Pawn Stars’ boss gets plaza rollin’; more sweet treats, Mexican eats in valley

Pawn Plaza celebrated its grand opening Oct. 9.

A Las Vegas open-air retail plaza held its grand opening last week as a California taco chain spiced things up with the debut of a new valley location. Meanwhile, the west valley greets a new donut shop, Goodwill prepares to open a mall location and a motorcycle boutique revs into downtown.

      Open-air retail center Pawn Plaza held its grand opening Friday.

      The plaza, at 725 Las Vegas Blvd. South, near East Charleston Boulevard, is led by Rick Harrison, owner of the adjacent Gold & Silver Pawn Shop.

      It features businesses including Rita’s Italian Ice and Pawn Donut & Coffee.

      Also located at the plaza is Rick’s Rollin’ Smoke Barbeque & Tavern, where Harrison sometimes bartends.

      Pinches Tacos

      Pinches Tacos opened its second Las Vegas location last week at mixed-use development the Gramercy.

      The 3,600-square-foot restaurant, which opened Wednesday, offers tacos, tortillas, burritos and more, according to a store representative and news release.

      The business is at 9205 W. Russell Road, Suite 190, near South Fort Apache Road.

      Pinches Tacos opened in West Hollywood in 2008 and ignited some controversy when the first Las Vegas location opened at the Container Park.

      Hours of operation for the Gramercy location are 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday to Thursday and 9 a.m. to 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday

    • Main Street Moto

      Main Street Moto officially opened its doors to the public Oct. 2.

      The downtown shop, at 831 S. Main St., near East Charleston Boulevard, took over a boarded-up space and sells motorcycles, motorcycle parts and art.

      The business also services motorcycles.

      It is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

    • Goodwill of Southern Nevada will open a 28,000-square-foot store Friday, Oct. 16, 2015, at the Boulevard mall.

      Goodwill of Southern Nevada will open a 28,000-square-foot store Friday at the Boulevard mall.

      The new location will offer 17,000 square feet of sales floor space with clothing, accessories, furniture, kitchen supplies and more.

      The store also will include a training room for Goodwill mission services such as resume workshops.

      It will be open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at the mall, located at 3528 S. Maryland Parkway, near East Twain Avenue.

      A new Las Vegas doughnut shop began selling sweet treats Saturday.

      Glaze Donuts opened to the public this weekend at 6545 S. Fort Apache Road, suite 130, near West Sunset Road.

      The location, which is about 1,100 square feet, offers classic and specialty handcrafted doughnuts made in small batches throughout the day.

      The shop is open 5 a.m. to 4 p.m. every day.
