Openings and closings: Play with Mickey, jump on trampolines, relax with chicken strips and booze

Children and adults will be able to enjoy several new stores that opened this week.

Guests of all ages can explore castles and hobnob with Disney characters or fulfill an urge to jump, tumble and run. In between adventures, families can dine at a rebranded casual dining restaurant that specializes in chicken strips, while adults will soon have a new spot in which to relax.

Here's a look at some of the shops opening in the valley:

      Disney Store

      A new Disney Store at Fashion Show Mall will let customers exercise their imaginations. Visitors young and old can explore the shop's castle and 5,500-square-foot theater.

      The store opened Wednesday and will celebrate its grand opening Saturday. Mickey and Minnie Mouse will visit with guests, and there will be giveaways and prizes.

      Store hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.

    • Sky Zone Indoor Trampoline Park opened it's second location on July 1 at 7440 Dean Martin Dr. Suite 201.

      The Sky Zone Indoor Trampoline Park, from the company that touts itself as the creator of the world's first indoor trampoline park, will celebrate a new location from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Festivities will include a ribbon cutting ceremony, face painting, balloon art, giveaways and prizes.

      Hour jump passes will be available for $10, with 50 percent of the proceeds going to the YMCA of Southern Nevada. Children who present a YMCA membership card will receive free jump time, although all children must have a waiver from a parent or guardian.

      The 27,000-square-foot park opened July 1 at 7440 Dean Martin Drive, Suite 201, Las Vegas. It is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to midnight Friday, 10 a.m. to midnight Saturday and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.

    • BFG Chicken stripped its name down to Strip N Dip on Aug. 12.

      As of today, BFG Chicken will now be known as Strip N Dip.

      The eatery serves baked, fried and grilled chicken strips and sides.

      The casual dining spot is at 873 S. Rainbow Blvd., Las Vegas. It is open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

      Elixir

      Elixir, a new lounge in Henderson, will open next month.

      Home to "the Elixir" cocktail, a concoction of Sobieski Citron vodka, Pama liqueur, fresh lemon and Marasca cherry juice, Elixir will celebrate its debut starting at 7 p.m. Sept. 21.

      The lounge also serves flatbreads, salads and other food, including a breakfast menu with burritos, sandwiches and build-your-own omelets.

      It will be open from 6 a.m. to 2 a.m. daily.
