Gov. Brian Sandoval has signed a bill to raise the speed limit in Nevada from 75 mph to 80 mph.
SB-2 now gives the state Department of Transportation the duty to decide where the new limit will be allowed.
The department has said it would weigh the safety hazards before raising the limit.
