RTC offering special buses for Las Vegas Bowl

College football fans who want to avoid the congestion and parking hassles of driving to Sam Boyd Stadium on Tuesday for the Las Vegas Bowl can take advantage of a special bus service for the event. The Regional Transportation Commission will be utilizing the 601 bus route, which only runs when there are special events at the stadium.

Construction workers began their labor on the city’s Tenaya Way overpass project early Friday morning. Incredibly early. The overpass is part of a $7.8 million project officially called the Tenaya Way Overpass and Bonanza Trail improvement project. It will link Tenaya by bridge over Summerlin Parkway, connecting Washington and points north to Westcliff Drive and points south.

The stripper-mobile won’t be the talk of the town — or the nation — much longer. Las Vegas attorney Jay Brown, who represents Little Darlings and Déjà Vu strip clubs, said the controversial Strip run of the U-Haul-like truck outfitted with Plexiglas walls to showcase clothed strippers is over.

Even the men who hand out “nude girls direct to your room” cards stopped their hawking long enough to do some gawking at the “stripper-mobile” as it rolled down the Strip on Monday night. It’s akin to a small U-Haul truck but with Plexiglas surrounding the brightly lit cargo area instead of walls. In the middle is a gleaming stripper pole. Swinging around the pole is a scantily clad young woman. Two of her fellow strippers are in the back of the truck too, awaiting their turns.

Fatal crash closes southbound lanes of I-15 at Tropicana

Southbound lanes of Interstate 15 were closed near the Strip Monday night after a fatal crash. The Nevada Highway Patrol responded at 9:22 p.m. to the crash near Tropicana Avenue.
