Marnell breaks ground on McCarran cargo center

A Las Vegas real estate development company broke ground today on an expansion project at McCarran International Airport. During the Marnell Properties ceremony, ground was broken on the Marnell Air Cargo Center, which will include two, single-story buildings that will house freight and mailing operations for the airport.

Henderson leaders and transportation officials this morning marked completion of the new Galleria Drive interchange at Interstate 515. The interchange cost $66 million and took about 18 months to complete. It’s located between the Sunset Road and Russell Road interchanges. Dignitaries and community members were led by the Green Valley High School drum line in a walk on the overpass to mark the opening.

Clark County Commissioner Tom Collins' lawsuit challenging a deal blocking him from voting on a highway contract was dismissed by a federal judge Tuesday, likely clearing the way for a third vote on the project. Collins on Oct. 5 sued the county and contractors Fisher Sand & Gravel Co. and Las Vegas Paving Corp. over a settlement in another lawsuit.
