Health care operator expanding in Las Vegas

Skilled Healthcare Group Inc., which already has four operations in the Las Vegas area, today said it’s buying Willow Creek Memory Care at San Martin.

The San Martin center in the Southwest Las Vegas Valley is licensed for 62 memory care assisted living beds, Skilled Healthcare said.

The center, adjacent to the unaffiliated St. Rose Dominican Hospitals San Martin campus, will be operated as Vintage Park at San Martin.

Terms weren’t disclosed.

Willow Creek Memory Care at San Martin had been part of the locally-owned Willow Creek Assisted Living Communities company. Willow Creek also has a center at 3351 N. Buffalo Drive.

In Las Vegas, Skilled Healthcare also has St. Joseph Transitional Rehabilitation Center, the Heights of Summerlin, Creekside Home Care and Creekside Hospice.

Skilled Healthcare is based in Foothill Ranch, Calif.

"The acquisition is a great opportunity for us to extend the breadth of our companies and the services they offer in the Las Vegas market, and we believe that it will be complementary to our existing skilled nursing, hospice and home health care businesses in the area. We anticipate that shortly following the closing Vintage Park will begin making modifications to the property to offer additional services at the facility,’’ Skilled Healthcare Chairman and CEO Boyd Hendrickson said in a statement.
