In business since: 2014

We recently received Federal Aviation Administration approval to operate drones for news gathering.

What does that accomplishment mean for your company?

It shows the FAA has closely inspected our operations and procedures, and given us its approval to fly unmanned aircraft, a tremendous and difficult hurdle to overcome. We are proud to be the first in Nevada to do this.

Who are your customers?

We have flown for ESPN, CBS Sports and other many other customers.

What makes your business unique?

We are the first company in Nevada to get the FAA exemption to fly drones for commercial purposes. We have a manned aircraft that will be used to make the transition into large, unmanned aircraft when they become legal to fly.

We also offer a comprehensive answer to the drone questions people have. We offer training, insurance, aircraft and legal help with the FAA concerning the drone industry. We don’t just sell customers a drone and leave them on their own; we help them in all aspects of this new industry.

What is your business philosophy?

Serve our customers and help Nevada become the center for unmanned aircraft.

What is the best part about doing business in Las Vegas?

Openness to new ideas — the wild West attitude allows Las Vegas to create new opportunities.

What obstacles have your business overcome?

People who are worried drones will be used for invading privacy. News organizations have been trusted using aerial assets to cover the news for decades without invasion of privacy, and we will practice the same high standards of ethics.

How can Nevada improve its business climate?

Education, education, education and diversify, diversify, diversify.

What have you learned from the recession?

Nevada’s “comeback” will be accomplished best by those of us who have been here for years building this community.
